About Us

In August of 2024, I will celebrate my 24th year with Culbertson Financial and my 9th anniversary as a Smartvestor Pro! I am a Penn State alumnus with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Education. I worked in the dairy and livestock industries prior to serving as State Executive Secretary of the PA FFA Association and Executive Director of the PA Christmas Tree Growers Association. At age 40, I made my debut into the financial industry with Culberston Financial Services. I have always enjoyed teaching and have used an educational approach in working with my financial clients whether working with investments, employee benefits, Medicare, or other insurance. I hold my Series 7, 63, and 66 licenses through LPL Financial as well as my Life, Accident, and Health insurance licenses through PA. I certify annually with the Centers for Medicare Services and the PA Health Insurance Exchange. (PENNIE)

I have been married to Deborah for 27 years and have a daughter, Katie, who is a 2023 Penn State graduate with a degree in Animal Science. Katie and I enjoy outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. Thirty years ago, I started mountain biking. During the pandemic, I got serious about biking. With many regular activities shut down, I used my new found free time to start biking local forest roads, trails, and then rail trails. Combining that with a calorie counting program that forced me to eat healthier, I was able to lose over 60 pounds in seven months. I now use that experience as a reminder of how important focus and self-discipline are in everyday life including helping my clients succeed!

Community service is important to me. I have served as a township supervisor for 22 years, a school board member for Nittany Christian School for 4 years, along with many other volunteer offices throughout the years.
